Yes, home surveys are needed as an essential service to protect buyers investment. It is impossible to accurately analyse statistics as we have incomplete data, but our estimations suggest that the average net benefit of Buyer Surveys completed by us will be a sum between 10 to 16 times the survey fee.
We have found subsidence, old/discontinuous as well as recent/active, highly dangerous chimney stacks, a very clear incidence of house and loft condensation and mould, active woodworm and devastating floor decay plus inevitable wall dampness issues and not only in older homes.
